So I'm buying a load of fake plants for a new betta/snail/khuli tank. A very reasonable price from a not so local fish shop that I thought I'd check out. As I was eagerly trying to rip the abundance of price stickers off, I realise they're pretty much welded on there. Not so much the paper bit on the top, but a sticky layer of glue underneath that scrubbing with all my puny might could not remove. Sugar soap didn't get rid of it, but eventually a strong nail polish remover did the trick. Although the fish in there looked pretty grade A, I don't think I'll get anything else from there...
I know its picky, and maybe I'm just getting old, but you'd think a "reputable" fish shop would go about pricing differently. I've never had a problem like this before, but I'm wondering if anyone else has? What did you do to get rid of it, (I don't tend to have nail polish remover lying around the house (thanks neighbour!)) and if it wasn't completely removed, would the leftover sticky stuff be harmful to snails and the rest of the population-to-be?

I imagine the small amounts wouldn't do massive damage in a large tank, but as it's never wise to put stuff in your fish tank unless you know what it is, I agree there must be better ways of pricing.
