Steve's Fishless Cycle

Tank is now starting to process Ammonia in 12 hours, just waiting for the nitrites to sort them selfs out. First of all they started rising but now they seem to be dropping.

Its looking very good Steve. I suggest dropping the NitrAte test as this is unimportant right now & you are realy just wasting reagent.

Your A-bacs seem quite well established & its looking like you may be proccessing Nitrite as well.

:good:

Excellent news. As the Ammonia is eaten up the Nitrites are produced. These will keep rising until the Nitrite munching bacteria grow, then they will sharply start reducing.

27/02/2011 9.00am water tasted ammonia 0 nitrite 1 :hyper:. Once the nitrite has hit 0 do I keep dosing the tank until the ammonia and nitrite return to 0 with in 12 hrs.

Yes, but it's important to only dose every 24 hours, and test every 12. If you find zero readings at 12 hours after dosing DON'T re-dose.

Spot on :good:

Tank tested ammonia 0 nitrite 5 9.00am

nitrite is going up and down. Do I need to dosed the tank every 12 or 24 hrs nitrite hasn't reach 0 yet. Nitrate going off the scale.
