I noticed this morning that one of my Sterbai Cories had a white lump. This is the second incident in my tank, after the death of one of my Cardinal Tetras although I assume that was natural. All the other Sterbai Cories seem completely fine and are behaving normally.  All other fish are fine too.

He seems to be brushing against plants and the tank glass a lot, as if he's trying to get it off. He's also at the front of the tank a lot more, which is unusual for my Sterbais.

Ammonia - 0ppm
Nitrite - 0ppm
NItrate - Approx. 60ppm

Weekly 25% water change

Fine sand substrate

55 gallon

Tank inhabitants -
1 Pearl Gourami
1 German Blue Ram
5 Otos
6 Sterbai Cories
4 Boesemani Rainbowfish
10 Rummynose Tetras

Is the lump on the front of the face and look fluffy in appearance.
Does the lum look smooth, or look like a cauliflower?
Does the lump feel hard?
Does the lump look like ti filled with fluid?
Is the lump beneath the skin?
Any red streaking, or red around the lump?

Your nitrate reading a bit high. What is your tap nitrate reading?

It's in front, on the right side. It does look fluffy.
Looks smooth.
It doesn't look like it's beneath the skin, no
And as you can see from the picture there is red around the lump

Tap nitrate reading is about 35ppm I believe

Does the lump feel hard just check, or filled with fluid.
Can you isolate the fish?
You can get your nitrate reading down if the tap 35.ppm.

I'll try. He's actually swimming sideways right at the surface now. I'm not sure he's going to make it

Edit - It does feel quite soft, but it's really hard to tell. The only way I can isolate him if inside a net, as I don't have another tank. His right eye is very swollen as well, but it looks like the white lump is slowly going away.

Bless Him.
Bacterial medication. But I agree it might be to late for him.
You can double this medication in severe case. Anti internal bacterial medication by interpet.

Yeah I don't have any medication unfortunately and I can't visit my LFS today. I do think it's just a matter of time now

Edit - Is there any way I can make it easier for him? It looks like the infection is spreading rapidly, all of his skin on the front of face is gone

Keep preforming water changes. A good gravel vac.
When did you last slightly rinse a mature filter sponge in tank water?
It sounds like the fish has popeye if the eye is sticking out.

You need to get a medication fast to save him.

I don't think it's popeye.. the only reason his eye is sticking out is because he has no skin left on that side :/

I see.
Once rotting starts it hard to stop.
If it gets any worse I would think about putting him out of his misery. Sorry.

Bless Him.
Sorry. Love corys.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear 508. What are you feeding your Corys? This Sterbai looks rather thin to me and its dorsal was dameaged as well.
