Starving Horse-- Theyre At My House Now!

Well, im pushing hard to keep the mare but we have a herd of geldings and my mom doesnt like mares really... too.. mare-ish :p

Glad they have found a good home for now bless them, well done.

I am so glad u have taken those poor things in! There is no reason at all to have any animal neglected at all! Great happy ending!

OHMYGOSH! i own a horse and take care of two others. Poor boy, he looks like he'd be absolutley gorgeous if he was healthy. I didn't read the entire thread, but from what I'm getting, you're taking care of him. Good job. Hehe, i'd buy him if i could. And as for the mare/gelding debate, I've ridden geldings and always preferred the mares over them. Geldings are twice as moody when they get moody. xD. I've owned this mare I have now for almost two years and she's only had one mare day. Every other day she's always the same.

omfg that is very very upsetting.

You said they own a buisness where people would be coming and going all day and seeing that horse?

Well if I saw that horse when I was dropping off my poodle, I would do a U turn and go back home.

That is disgusting.

Heres an update!! Ive been riding him, and hes SOOO much fun. We decided to keep him for the time being so yeah.... Hes a complete angel under saddle, and responds to all commands quietly. Obviously, before that crazy woman took him, he had some training other then the bare minimum at the track. Heres some pics of me riding him.

Yeah, however most of that on a normal horse is muscle tone. Vet said go ahead and ride him. Today I took him out in my pasture for a 45 minute walk up and down the hills... which is an EXCELENT muscle builder haha.

wow he looks so much healthier and happier.

well done you for doing something about it, those first pictures were absolutely shocking

Good job!!!!! I have always wanted horses but they arent allowed in the city and My mom is afraid og them!

Well done, hard to believe that's the same horse from the first pics. Did you end up rehoming the mare?

I just read this thread tonight and wow... incredible!!! Unspoken, I must commend you for stepping up and helping those poor horses. The one you are riding in the pics looks fantastic. It's a shame to see people neglect animals, but at the same time it's a joy to see people step up and take care of them. Well done. :)
