Well after my 2 tanks crashed in 05 I've decided to get back into it. Purchased a used 48 gallon bowfront.i have sand over fluorite and plan on doing a planted tank with drift wood.i purchased an eheim ecco 2234 and set it up. My issue, besides my drift wood growing the white fungus, is the outflow on this filter is not sufficient. I added a power head and there is still small debris settling on bottom and a surface skim. I would like to get a different filter.i really want to run just one filter on this tank.my thought are either getting the next let size up ecco or get the classic and sell my 2234.i figure the spray bar will turn my tank into a river. What are your opinions on this issue? Was thinking of doing the 2217 unless it will be too strong of an outflow but I can always drill holes in the spray bar. Thanks guys! It's good to be back!
