Hi I'm starting my Mbuna tank tommorow :D :D

I have a 100gallon 4ftx2ftx2ft (running to externals) tank which has been running for a few years with new world cichlids which i'm in the process of offloading/trading for malawis tomorrow.

I'm planning on replacing my black gravel with Argonite and making a 'reef' out of pebbles with some wood and anuibus.

I was given a few yellow labs and I was planning on stocking around 30 Mbuna all in all.

Shall i do ten types of Mbuna? 10 groups of 3? or do they need to be in bigger groups? I really love Yellow labs.

Another type I really like is not a Mbuna but a hap...they have that white body with the brown splotches...are these compatible with regular Mbuna?

I am a complete Malawi n00b...can anybody recommend any sites that are informative about Mbuna? so i know what to pick tomorrow?

I am planning on getting ten fish tommorow then ten fish at 2 other times to complete my stocking.

You know i'll post millions ;)

Gonna miss my Sevs but deffo time for a change!

Yeh I havent got a clue what i'm going to buy :p

I'm deffo gonna get some more Yellow labs then i'm going to look through the Mbuna tanks and get someone to help me pick out what i want.

I know i'm going to get a Mbuna that is a solid blue colour, another that is white another that is black with stripes, the white one with the camoflage lookign brown splotches and i want to get soem that is light blue with red fins.

So probably going to get groups of 5 of each so 6 different types.

Then going to get a few more Bristlenoses.

Can anybody give me some 'common' suggestions on what i have said so i have a rough idea what to look out for? knowing the LFS i'll go looking for a mbuna and end up with a 3ft monster fish or something crazy.

Heres some pics that i have seen of fish that i want

I just saw those on a site...nice looking fish, will deffo look out for those tomorrow.

I'm looking at getting a trade in of about £40 for my new worlds and P@H has Mbuna buy one get one free so i should be able to get around 10 fish tomoz.

Excited!!!!! :p

i went there today to get some rat foot lol and i ended up coming home with 9 polyboxes lol they only recycle them i could of had 30 odd but they wouldn't fit in the car lol

They are a interesting shop (P@H) lol...easy to get bargains if you know what i'm saying ;)

Hi imo 30 fish in tank that size is not enough they should be kept in a big group as long as you got good filtration to keep the water clean. personaly in a 4x2x2 i would have 50-60 they love sand and alot of rocks.
