Recently decided to start up with a tank again after a couple of years without. Last time I went from a 40 litre tank to two 40 litre tanks to a 200 litre tank. It all got a bit too much with having numerous aviaries to look after aswell so the tank had to go. Couldn't resist picking up a small 30 litre tank though when I saw it so it all starts again.

Just looking for a bit of advice as things slowly start to flow back to me.

The tank is currently home to 6 Ember tetras which at the moment are no bigger than 1cm. I believe they'll probably end up double that. With that in mind, what else would be fine in the tank?

In my previous tanks I had a small group of Celestial Pearl Danio (Galaxy Rasbora?) which I donated to an aquarium as at the time there was a bit of a debate over whether it was wise to keep them if you weren't intending to breed them. However I believe that captive bred CPD are available now? So I'd like to hopefully have a small group again if possible? I think a group of Embers and a group of CPD would look and mix really well if space allows.

Also, if I remember correctly, Amano shrimp don't really affect the bioload of the tank? They seemed fine with my CPD in the past and once my Ember tetras are a little bigger I'd like some more Amano. How many would be suitable?

I can already see another small tank being purchased as the list of fish I used to keep comes back to me. I pretty much used the topic on here that suggested which fish to stock a 10 gal tank with, as a guide. Pygmy cory, Sparkling Gourami, Espes Rasbora, etc!!!

CPD can indeed be kept. They are being bred in captivity now.
You should be able to stock a few CPD with your tetras and even have some room fo some pygmy cories if you go about it gradually and allow your filter to develop and mature before moving forward.
