hi people,looking to get into keeping tropical fish,just wondering what size of tank to buy?Just looking to build a nice attractive tank,what fish do people recomend,thanx

If you want a larger choice in tropical fish the bigger the tank the better.

thinking maybe 120 litres,what would you recommend?

Depends on what type of fish, livebearers or other?

If livebearers, i would get a 4ft tank,

buy 2 male endlers,
5 female endlers,

2 males guppies
5 female guppies

2 male mollies
5 females mollies

2 male swords
5 female swords

2 platties
5 female platties

And just sit bk and let them breed like mad lol

But thats just what i would do lol

hold on a min there mr speedy lol

Let the tank cycle first, buy some test kits and after leaving your water cycling in the tank for a week, test the water for, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

then if they not up to scratch, wait a bit longer until the levels are good.

Then when ready to add fish, only add 3 or 4 at a time, let them settle in, then add more after a few days to give your filter chance to adjust to the extra waste etc.

Only add 3-4 fish at a time, adding to many at once can take its toll on the filter.

The more fish in the tank, the more waste.

The more fish = more breathing, When fish breath they give out ammonia, so the cycle buisness is important and adding to many at once can effect it rapidly.
