As i'm not getting any replies in the beginner section, i'd love to hear people's feedback on using spring water vs. tap water in regards to water changes. I did a 50% change on a 10 gallon tank a few hours ago and it really cleared up my water. No death to fish yet either! Anyways, if you want a more detailed explanation, here's the link to the original thread. I'd really appreciate some positive or negative feedback to what i've done.

hi,

i'm no expert, but what i have heard, is that spring water has a lot of salts in it and is not good for the fish.

right now i'm trying to lower our hardness and ph down by using distilled water, a 5g jug a week, in time this will help with our hardness problem, since a lot of the fish we have in this tank live longer and heathier in softer water.

good luck :)
