Spiting Food Out

Both my fish are spiting their food out dose anyone know why?

They often do this to soften up the food. What are you feeding them?

i am feeding them tetra min and wardley food. they keep it in their mouth for awile and do the motion of chewing then spit it out and it sinks to the bottom. i have cut up the wardley food and they take it fine sometimes and the tetramin they eat sometimes and then spit out other times.

Yeah my bettas do that to tetramin 2. I make sure the get some in though.

If you soak it in some conditioned water to soften it up first they may take it better.

ive tryed soaking it but it sinks right to the bottom before mi boys can get to it

You could try and wait till your boys are on the top, then you can just drop it in. They will usually get it this way. My betta had problems with spitting food out too, so I tried freeze dried bloodworms, and then the regular food to make him think he was getting more bloodworms.
