Is it ok to have sphagnum moss in your aquarium?? Would it grow?

no it will rot  but there are other mosses you can have like:

Fissidens fontanus  (phoenix moss)
Vesicularia ferriei (weeping moss)
Frontinalis antipyretica (willow moss)
Vesicularia montagnei (christmas moss)
Taxiphyllum alternans (Taiwan Moss)
Monosolenium tenerum (Pellia)
Riccia fluitans

As far as I am aware Sphagnum moss is a bog plant so it survives in very damp areas but not totally submerged, it may live for a while if you try but will eventually perish, I think it would live quite well if attached onto bogwood half in and half out of water if kept damp.

is it good to use in your filters? what would it do? as in would it lower ph, hold good bacteria??
