Gem is in the tank with my boy now and he has a massive nest. She is also pretty chubby and keeps dancing at him. He is under the nest and keeps swimming to her and swimming back. She goes to the nest makes her little dance and he goes over like he's about to wrap and then bites her..... this is so infuriating why is he biting her at the last second! she has lost a tiny bit of fin but is still interested in him and is currently doing the nose down dance again he just bit her!
HELP
:'(

Hi
How long was she in a chimney for before she was released?

about 4 days she got to the point where she was trying to get out bashing the edge etc and I let her out this morning. I keep thinking he's going to wrap her and then blam he bites her she almost seems like she is trying to wrap him sometimes!

As long as she doesn't get to bashed up I wouldn't worry. The fact she is going over to the nest is a good sign :good:

If they haven't spawn by tonight, you can put her back in the chimney and release her in the morning. We have done this and it seems to work well.

Ok thank you

she has places to hide so hopefully she wont get too badly beaten she just has one split in her tail I get worried about her being so small and all. So I will wait longer then its only been an hour but I dont want her to get too worn down :( Thanks for helping

No problem :good:

Some of our spawns have taken 4/5 hours, others have taken 2 days!

Oh my god they just started wrapping! and we have eggs! she is putting them back in the nest I am sooooo excited!!!!!!

:hyper: :hyper: it's amazing watching them isn't it!!!!!

It was my white dragon Sam and the Plat girl Gem that Daz gave me. This is my first go though so lets hope I get it right and I have babies to show for it! Im like a nervous mother! are there signs I look for when to take him out Netty?

After the babies hatch, it should be another 2 or 3 days before they are free swimming, then you can take Dad out. Just keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't eat the eggs. If he's a good Dad he'll pick up any eggs that fall and put them back in the nest and the same once they've hatched. You'll see them bobbing up and down under the nest and if any fall too far he should pick them up and put them back in the nest.

As far as I can tell he's filling in holes in the bubble nest, restocking it kind of. Is there a chance there are so few that they arent fertilized?

ok now he looks like he's eating them!

Probably arranging them to where he wants them. Our Pk moved his eggs and babies at least 3 times a day lol
