Sparkling Gouramis After My New Bee Bee Shrimp!

Title says it all. I got 4 bee bee shrimp plus an amano shrimp to help eat algae / leftovers in one of my aquariums which includes tetras, rasboras, and 3 sparkling gouramis. The little gouramis are definitely after the bee bee shrimp!

Is this normal for the sparkling gouramis? Will they go after the amano shrimp? Is there any other shrimp I could try? I guess I should have gotten some (cheap) ghost shrimp?!

I have 6 Sparkling Gourami's in with my Cherries, and they are seemingly fine

Sparklers are buggers (IMO). I've found them to definitely have the bullying streak!

My sparkling gouramis like trying to eat my cherry shrimp and most likely do eat any they can fit in their gobs :angry:

. One day I saw one of the sparkling G's trying to eat a largish shrimp, realised the shrimp was too big so it spat it out, the poor shrimp was just getting over the rude shock and stumbling away to hide when one of my empire gudgeons spied it and finished it off :crazy:

. So far I have found corydoras, khuli loaches, bristle noses, Pakastani loaches, Borneo Suckers, black neon tetras and most guppies shrimp safe. The ones I can't trust with shrimp are some siamese fighters (they will have a go at them, my male enjoys hunting them down in his tank), goldfish, empire gudgeons and sparkling gouramis. My sister found out that dwarf gouramis can't be trusted with cherry shrimp either.

Plenty of moss and other cover will ensure you get some shrimplets survive. Adult Cherries are bigger than Sparkling Gourami's so shouldn't really pose much risk at all.

Well, it's been around 24 hours and I think the gouramis are now leaving them alone. I've added a few cherry shrimp as well. Oh, and the amano shrimp and the gouramis? One gourami came close to it and then swam away. Ha ha, I guess it's too big.

Now, my next problem ... found one of the little bee bee shrimps with it's tail in the filter input, couldn't get out, had to help it out by a net.
