I've now had 5 Honey Gourami over the nearly 5 months I've had my fish and I had to euthenise the last one this morning due to what I thorougly suspect was Dwarf Gourami disease (I really do think Honeys can catch it). Anywaym I've decided I obviously have some leaning towards this in my water so think it's best that I don't try to keep Honeys anymore :(

So now I'm thinking I should try Sparkling instead as I believe they're hardier and also less closely related to Dwarfs.

Would they be ok with my current stocking (Platys, Green Neons and Pygmy Corys)? Would you recommend I have 2 or 3 and is there anything else important I should know?

I'm going to wait a week or 2 before getting them and do more water changes than usual to make sure all's well.

sparkling gouramis are great, ive kept 2 of them once and they didnt bother anything, kept to themselves

Sparklers are fab little fish :good:

I bought 6 initially, lost 1 tiny one within a few days, but the other 5 have thrived, they have gorgeous colours on them when caught in a certain light :)

They should be fine, you could easily have 3 or more, they stay small.make sure you have plenty of plant hidey holes they can chill in :)

Lol yeah plenty of that. I actually had to cut a load of it back the other day coz there was virtually no swimming space for the Neons.

Thanks guys. I just hope whatever it is isn't going to affect ALL Gouramis I ever get.
