I am definatly getting 4 croaking gouramis. I know that they are sensative and i dont want them to die. I am trying to make a perfect habitat for them. I have a ten gallon tank. So far with sand substrate and large rocks. I will be adding live plants, and driftwood soon. Please tell me everything you know about them because i would like to make them the perfect habitat.

That does sound like a wonderful habitat. To tell you the truth, they are not as sensitive as some people will say. I kept them in a community tank with platies, cherry barbs, and a dwarf gourami with no trouble. Currently they're in a quarantine tank, and the only things I learned are that they like a dark substrate if possible, and they do love heavily planted areas. When there wasn't enough plants in the quarantine tank they became very shy and skittish. Also, give them some pots or caves if you're interested in spawning.

These are some of the most wonderful fish!! I'm very excited for you, I think you'll like them. :D They are incredibly inquisitive and very pretty when healthy. I adore my pair. I think I may get another. :p

Also, just wanted to add, croaking and sparkling gouramis are different species.

you think they are sensitive, try creating a tank for wild caught chocolates!!! it's a nightmare

Trichopsis vittata

they get about 3", like temperatures of 78, appriciate live, frozen, freeze dried food, but will take flakes and buildbubble nest to breed.

thats my basic knowlegde on them
