Southaamerican Cichlids Specialists?

hi all, i have been trying in vain to find a south american dwarf cichlid sho in southern england. preferably hampshire/wiltshire area. anyone know of any places?

Yeah, that'd be nice to know if there's any specialists around here. Stocking in MA varies so much.

I guess that would be Arundel Aviaries and Fisheries, Arundel Street (within spitting distance of Fratton Road). Never used to be a fan of theirs, because I found the tanks dirty, and too full of plants to be able to see the fish. Having said that, I went in there last week, (long story, involving me pandering to the whims of my 3yo!), and found it much improved.

I don't know much about cichlids, but he certainly had some cockatoos and some bolivian rams, but more than that I couldn't tell you.

What annoys me is that what's written on the tanks isn't necessarily what's in the tanks. For instance, I'm interested in rare livebearers - this shop has a tank marked "Girardinus Metallicus - Yellowbelly". As far as I'm aware, the common name of G. Metallicus is Blackchin. The tank above contained Blackchins. As far as I'm aware, the scientific name of Yellowbelly is G. Falcatus. I have one of these, and what was in this particular tank was not what I have. I believe what was in this tank was Golden Teddy - Xenophallus Umbratilis.

Clearly, they're happy to stock rarer species, so if you know what you're looking for, by sight, rather than by name, then it's probably worth a browse.

The only other possibility in Portsmouth would be The Aquatic Centre, but he doesn't seem to stock anything other than run of the mill stuff.
