Sound Of Noise From External Fish Filters?

Just a question do you think the sound from a out take eg spray bar going into the water does the sound disturbed the fish? i no sounds a silly question.

if it sounds like a loud vibration then yes it will stress the fish out but spray bars are usually noisey anyway

Depends on the fish. If you have a mountain stream aquarium for loaches and minnows, then a spray bar is essential if you want the right sort of conditions. On the other hand, fish from places where the water current is minimal, like discus, probably do object to splashing and turbulence, so you want to create as little disturbance as possible.

For most community fish though this isn't something to worry about. Provided you haven't create an extreme situation, most of the usual tetras, barbs, etc. will adapt to whatever conditions you throw at them.
