K I bought a 37 gallon tall (not what I wanted but I think I can make it work by making in multiy layered if this is possible or only putting in half the water and making it a anphibian / soroity tank ?????

How many female bettas could I put in such a tank I am also planning on getting some white cloud minnows(group of 10 or so as they die easy lol) and maybe 2 or 3 african Dwarf frogs................ what about corycats (group of 6 ) hmmmm soooo many possibilities lol soooo little room.

and is chilid food okay for bettas they seem to like it and have started to reject the pellets I was giving them!!

first off, how many females are you looking at putting in there?

second, how much water do you plan ot have in the tank after making it amphibeous?

third, why are you making it amphibeous? is it for the frogs? ADFs are fully aquatic and would just need little plants in the water (or ledges) to rest on.

ok from there i will venture out ok. i think you could make half the tank beach and the other half water. in a tank that size i think 6 cories should work out alright. as for the girls, i have 8 in a 20 gallon with some other fish so it should be fine.

as for the WCMM, they are known to be "coldwater" fish, check the temps for them, but bettas liek to be in the range 73-83F (some say 75-85F, but i feel 85 can be too hot for them and makes them more prone to diseases such as culminarous (sp) or ick). i keep my tank between 75-78F. my thermostat is set for 75, but the lights slightly heat the water durign the day so they wind up at 78 by the time i turn off the lights.

if you want a nice schooling fish, i hae seen that Neons work well with females, but that is just IME, so it may not hold true to your fish. remember, personality varies from fish to fish so they are all different.

sorry if it came off as rude at first, i wanted ot hit those before i forgot, and i wanted to keep the post as short as possible. and looking at it i didn't achieve my goal to well  . when will i learn to paraphrase more

i hope i helped :good:

I'm curious as to what the tank dimentions are in inches? I've never seen a 37 gallon tank... only the 29 long, 30, and 50 gallons. ^_^

30l 12 w 22 h

Hmm. I would think with a tank with dimentions like that, you would want to fill it no more than 18 inches full of water. that would leave space at the top for the girls if they tried to jump, and the other thing to look into with larger sorority tanks are filters. I have a HOB filter in my 30 gallon with a DIY filter killer, but because I also have a pleco I have an airstone/bubbler in the one corner. My tank has about 16 inches of water, and my girls don't have a problem with the depth at all.

I don't know enough about the white minnows to give any advice on that, but I do know when I had some Rosy Red minnows in the tank, they were constantly nipping at my girls fins until they became Oscar food. As for how many, depending on what type of Cory you want to get I would say 4-6 cories, and for the female bettas, at least 5 and no more than 9, and the cories would want plants in the tank, so a well planted tank with either real or silk plants, since Plastic can rip the girls fins.

The Tank has a Glass Lid so I dont have to worry about Jumping it has 2 filters going not because I am lazy but I broke a 10 Gallon tank So the filter from that went in this too its a Whisper 10L so its not doing much
the other filter came with the tank and is for a 40 Gall tank.

I currently have both soft plastic and silk plants 2 caves a Titanium filter and a Mist maker in the tank..... the mist make is floating in another Glass container it looks Cool lol. I also have found that when I have the Mist Maker in the tank I have perfect water perimeters take the mister out and wow everything goes crazy......... I dont know why so we just leave it at that fish seem to like it Iknow my males build bigger nests when they can see the mister.

I have 2 female bettas 4 betta edithea and a Mystery Snail to go into this tank at this point
My 3 female hates large tanks and is happy in her One Gall Jar and my fourth female who I have yet to replace had her egg sac burst and passed away.

Even with the lid, I still wouldn't fill it more than 18 inches, but thats my personal prefference. -shrug- I would think the 40 gallon filter would create too much current, not sure about the mist maker as I've never heard/used one of them... Anyways, good luck with it, and remember if/when you do get more girls to add to the tank, to take the two that are in there out and re-arrange all the decorations so that when you put them all in at the same time, no one has a territory that they try to defend. ^_^
