I just noticed a pink sore on my angel fish's side and I'm scared it has a disease. Any help would be appreciated, I will post a picture on here. It seems to be in good health and acting normally other than the sore, so I'm not sure if it's just a scratch or if it has a parasite or something.

I would set up a hospital tank, a 10 gallon would be fine. It looks somewhat like a heater burn, this sort of thing is usually found most often on plecs, as they will attach themselves to or near to the heater, getting burned when it cycles on. I'd be concerned with some of the other fish doing a bit of chasing, and the angel hiding, especially if this appeared rather suddenly.

Keep the hospital tank on the cool side, around 73F, don't feed the fish. 50% water changes daily for a week, wait 10 minutes before adding dechlor. The clean water with a bit of disinfectant will help with any infection issues, cooler temperatures keep bacteria growing slower.

If it gets larger or there are any behavioral issues it's time to look into medications. Knowing your location would help with this, as some medications are not easily available in certain countries. If it's getting better 50% water changes every other day the second week, it should look real good after that.

I live in Canada-British Columbia, I'm sure I could ask my pet store to order in some medicine if it's needed. Thanks so much for the information, It seems likely that it's a burn because it is usually seen hanging around the heater, once I actually saw it trying to go behind it (As some of my smaller fish were doing). The other fish don't usually interact much with my angel fish, so I'm not too worried about them bugging it... But I will definately try to set up a hospital tank for it :)

I'll let you know how it goes!
