Hi im new to this forum. I am going to be getting a new tank. I am planning to keep discus in the tank. These are the dimensions:
42"Long x 24"Wide x 24" Deep = 104.68 gal(US)

I will probaly put 6 Discus in there. I was wondering if the dimensions (not gallons) are ok for 6 Discus. I have done a lot of research on these fish but couldnt fine what dimensions they would thrive in. Any advise/help would be very nice :)

yep your tank shoud be fine. i think thats about 105 gallons and youl be able to get a few more discus in there...

When you say few how many do u mean?
I was planning to also get some bottom dwellers with the Discus. Any reccomendations?

maybe 2? but im not sure theyd be sutable as adults. 6 will work though. i think you could just about push it at 7 adults in there though....corys work well. any thing will work well that wont annoy the discs... i woudnt recoment using plecs as they have a tendancy to stick themselved to the discs.also i woudnt use anything like loaches as they are pretty fast and stress the discs.. a group of corys id recomend the most...

Agree with the above poster, cories all the way :)
Sterbai cories are better suited than most to thrive in the warmer waters discus require ;)

K kool ill get 6. Is there a male to female ratio?
Ill reasearch some good Cory's.
Um i wouldnt realy want to go barebottom so can i go sand or gravel? I know its difficult but i will be doing a water change every 2-4 days.

thats personal choice. why dont you mix the sand and gravel to make it look more natural?....maybe a few pieces of bog wood in there.i think i heared somewhere that bog wood tends t lower the ph...? dont know if thats true or not..but considering tap water is a weak alkaline bog wood would be a bad choice...
sed some pics when you get the tank

Ill post pics once i get the tank. I personally wouldnt want to mix gravel and sand.
So i was thinking this as a stocking list:
6x Discus
6x C. Aeneus
2x German Rams

I hope i wont overstock it will I?

You can realx your not over stocked you can afford to put some tetras in there like cardinals

Hmmm... im debating either i go for:
8-10x Cardinal Tetras
7-8 Harlequins
or some other school (or shoal) of fish.
