Awhile ago I posted about my fish problems and my adult platy that was hiding all the time. My fish problems are pretty much fine now. The only remaining two problems were that the adult platy has gotten worse and I am unable to help her... so I decided to euthanize her. And I have one guppy that seems to have a permanent swim bladder issue but otherwise seems in good health.
So... the weird thing happened when I was about to euthanize my platy (which has been done already now). I caught her in the net, no harm came to her in the process. But within seconds of removing her from the water... something happened to her that I've never seen before. Her coloration is yellow to white across her body and all shades in between and she had black patches and black spots. Towards her head and nose she is the most yellow and towards her tail/belly the closest to white (maybe more cream)....
Anyhow... when I removed her from the water the yellow started turning a dark orange and she started looking like she was internally bleeding/turning red starting at her nose and working its way along. I've never seen a thing like it! She did NOT get an injury when I caught her or from the net.
What caused that? Is this some symptom of her disease that I could neither identify nor cure?
Other symptoms were that she was hiding all the time thought was eating. Then in the last 3ish days she had stopped eating and sometimes would come out and hover instead of hide. I decided that after a couple weeks that was enough.
But... what caused that darkening in color and what looked like maybe bleeding "under the skin" so to speak.
