ok i think somebody is trying to tell me its time to quit. gotr home from work today and my heaters had arrived. so i thought great i can get up to temp ready for the filter paul is brining round tomorrow. so i open the tank hood and bang right in front of my face i notice a problem. the cutouts in the condensation cover that you feed hoses cables etc through are at the effin front!!! i just assumed there was 1 at each corner for some reason . didnt even check. the tank is full too!!!! and to add to that the power cables on the heaters are ridiculously short and the light control unit even shorter so now i have to go out and buy some extensions etc . if i could take off my leg i would kick my own backside! have managed to get heater cables etc tidy just hope that filter has long hoses!

hehe we all do things like this, i had to cut out the floor of the cuboard to house the fluval fx5 cos i didnt even think how tall it would stand

no its the glass shelf that sits in the top of the tank which is siliconed into place

lol nelly at least im not the only 1. and you just have to love it when the missus comes out with an ever so helpfull comment of you would think working in the building trade you would be able to put a glass box on top of a wooden 1 !

have got round it with the heaters and airline for bubble disc all i have to do now is get extension for light control unit , which only has a power cable about 10" long ( what a joke!) and hope filter hoses are quite long

hehe its difficult, in the building trade you have a plumber who cant work without the sparkie,then sparkie cant work without the plasterer and the plasterer is having a tea break

eureka!!!!!!!! its just come to me . the sliding "doors" of the cover are the full width of the tank so all i have to do is keep 1 slid slightly open and hey presto 1 opening at the rear of the tank! god im a genius all be it a thick 1

imagine if instead of just posting progress pics i had done a propper journal for this new tank. it would have read like a slapstick comedy!
