very nice Snowflake

what else do you keep with them? I;m in process of selling the fish that share the tank bar the tetras and corys to make sure they get as much of the food as possible

I love festivums is that one ok with the discus?

I like Festivums too but I'd keep Discus with Tetra as they make the Discus feel safer (may colour up better too), but as far as I'm aware Festivums eat Tetra so the Festivum would have to go.

These guys look amazing, Im getting tempted more and more to get a species tank for these guys :p

The Festivum is fine with the discus. But when I feed frozen food cube I need to hand feed them so that the Festivum will not eat it all. I hand feed to makes sure everyone gets a full belly. Beside him being a pig he is a good tank mate. He thinks he is a discus.

I have Cory cats and just a few random tetras that are basically leftovers from another tank were most became food. I also have a bn pleco. my tetras stay out of the discus way when foods around

My red snakeskin is the perfect example of a poor quality lfs discus. Poor guy will not grow.

80gal
8 discus 3-5" in size
6 random tetras
7 Cory cars
1 Festivum 5" ( I might move him to another tank so I can keep plants)
1 bn Pleco 3" female

I love the Cory cats and think they are great for cleaning up beef heart bits. You should keep them.

Festivums are big time plant eaters and will not hunt down tetras. Mine is 5.5" over a year old and still growing. He never has touches the smaller fish. Now my sword plant that's another story.

Those discus are lovely

Your very lucky, if your festivum wasn't so well fed you would honestly find a tetra vanishing from time to time, either that or he's a strange one lol, not saying you have made a bad choice but its true, festivums can and have eaten tetra, I had a good look into tank mates when I had a Discus set up 4 - 5 years back.

I am sure they can eat tetras but so can discus. If I only fed my Festivum only greens and made a vegetarian diet only he would be very happy. I need to get a photo of what he has done to my Mellon sword. I feed him veggies and dry algea with veggie flake and he still want more. So I just can't see himk being a hunting type. Now my blue acara she was bad about going after tetras.

Thanks guys.

Glad its not the hunting type, I even googled it and found info on them eating tetra but its random anyway, just an instinct I suppose.

Lovely fish there, I would love to add a couple of those babies to my discus tank :p
