Here are my new german blue rams, i wasn't sure they would go with the scape but i have kept them before and just love them and i think once they settle in and colour up they should look great.

And here is one of around 35 Xiphophorus Nezahualcoyotl fry - a rare swordtail, they are 2 weeks old now and finally feel comfortable out in the open, they seem to love foraging and ducking and weeving through the Hemianthus.

I now have a good group of Nezzies and i will shortly be selling them in decent numbers, i find these fish perfect for aquascapes as they are very small and peaceful especially compared to the common X.Helleri - no more than 6cm, and although not classed as a shoaling fish they do stick together and they really are stunning fish when it top condition. Anyhoo if your interested in something rare and a bit different then feel free to PM me.

you have yourself 3 males there, you will need 3 females or they will fight, also make sure your tank is big enough for 3 pairs (20 gallons per pair)

This post wasn't a question or query so why answer with a rushed, unconsidered statement and some basic, wayward stocking advice?

The stocking depends on so many different factors than just the volume of water - planted, unplanted, caves, pots, wood, fish age, tank mates, visibility, even PH and general water quality, the list goes on and on. Also, I dont know how you can possibly be 100% sure from these pics, i have watched them all day and i disagree. I have four of them not just these three, the top two are males but the bottom one and the one i didnt get a picture of are females, i know its very hard to distinguish when they are showing poor colours like this, the bellies of the females aren't reddened and the body and fin colours are pale, they are not fully grown either so how you came to a sure conclusion is beyond me. As i just said its very difficult to sex a pale juvenile GBR, the only good way at this stage is the extended fins at the front of a males dorsal fin (which some females can have) and the presence of any blue in the black patch on the females which is still not a sure fire way of sexing them. Once they'v settled in it will be much easier to tell.

I can't quite put my finger on it truck but some of your posts really annoy me, a lot of them are wayward and condasending and a lot of them are simply pointless, if i was somebody that didn't know better then i might of taken your advice, bagged up the fish and gone back to the lfs for no bloody reason!!! I remember well when you said that there was only one sub species of Ancistrus, you were sure of it and could have quite easily convinced a newbie of false information, think before you advise people man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i understand your points johnny, and agree with some. But you must be carefull of what you say here, and if u have a problem report to a moderator who are happy to help.

Yup fair enough rocknurworld, i should have pm'd him to express my thoughts but the red mist just decended, i've edited the post to remove any offensive words.

lovely fish :good: have you tried blyxa again yet?

Hi Aaron, yes i got a truck load of it from a member of UKAPS, it was brilliant stuff, extreamly good condition with lots of healthy white roots. But despite this most of it has melted away, however i have got some stems that have rooted well so i should be able to propogate them in a few weeks, its such a tricky little plant aye, it seems like it needs tons of light as the stems i put at the side of the tank and the ones that were slighty overshadowed by larger plants all died off quickly but the stems that i planted in the middle and in the open are doing much better.

Edit: over night it has been amazing how much the rams have coloured up, the water stats are perfect for rams so they should turn out good, i'll try and get some more pics soon.
