Some Advice On Seachem Purigen

this is for people who use or have used purigen. I was thinking of getting some for my filter, I have an 180 litre aquarium and using an aps 1000 external filter. what size of purigen should I buy for my tank size, also am I right in thinking, have the purigen at the top of the filter. also what do u all use to put the purigen in, it says to use "fine mesh filter bag" seen the filter bags only on the auction site for around £6, anyone use home made ideas thats cheaper.

If you buy the loose stuff then make your own bags using a pair of tights.

You can buy it ready bagged though.

Any amount of it will work, just may take longer to get crystal clear water. I would have thought that the 100g packs would be enough, but if in doubt then go for the 200g pack.

try the tights, but note that the particle size is very small

im abotu to buy some off ebay, the aquatic store i emailed said the 100ml pack coems pre bagged, any size above that comes loose.

Yep, the 100g bags are ready to use. The bigger sizes come loose in a tub. Tights of the appropriate denier will be fine to use.
