Hey
Well i seem to have 2 demasoni's that are either very good at pretending to be something else... or they keep the violence at bay until im asleep....lol
the two i have are fantastic fish, very quiet , and couldnt seem to give a stuff what i put in there with them. they get on fine with everyone ( as i have added more fish now ) and i have no problems to report with them whatsoever...
However.... word of warning
in my very short experience , Melanochromis Johannii are to kept away from if you have a small tank, man are they aggressive little sods ( i took 2 back to my LFS today ) although i have all juveniles in my tank and although they have only been here for 2.5 weeks, they totally ruled the tank, and showed aggression for no apparent reason, if a fish swam past...they chased it no matter what fish.. so they had to go ( way i see it..if they show that kind of aggression at 2 inches !! what they gonna be like fully grown !!!! )
luckily my LFS are very very good and have no problems about me taking anything back( as long as its not dead ...lol ) so i am kind of using them to do some testing...certain types of fish with others. ( hence the johannii )
i am now upto 12 fish in total , and think i will stay at that , it seems to be a very comfortable number in what size tank i have.
fish i have now are ...
2 x rusty
2 x red zebra ( new - and testing to see if they are ok )
1 x peacock
1 x tropheus moori ( tangan )
2 x demasoni
1 x crabro
2 x yellow labs
1 x synodontis cat
i can honestly say, this is the most peacefull my tank has been since i started , they all get on very well ..... but do bear in mind ..... mine are all no longer than 2" juv's , this could and may change as they get older...
i have added some more rocks and got myself a moonlight , and wil ltry to get some picks on here soon..
i am not very experienced , however i will happily help you in any way i can
good luck
look forward to seeing your tank
( finally..... ) .. i think my RUSTYS are doing the LOVE dance...Mr rusty seems to be showing himself off alot to the other which is quite funny to watch, ill keep this updated if anything happens
