Soil Substrate For Plants

For my new 52gallon low tech tank I was considering doing a fitted tank, what are your opinions?

I will be having digging catfish
I will have sand on top for substrate
Is soil really worth it?

Not for a low tech tank, no. You'd be better off just using sand and adding a fertiliser or root tabs
