Hi

Just found a tub of oxyclean says on the back >50% sodium percarbonate and says you can use it for aquariums? Just wonderd if its safe enough to clean mag cleaners thermometers etc?

Thanks guys

I wouldn't use it. It's just as easy to clen an empty tank with vinegar (don't use on acrylic) or a mixture of 1 part bleach to 20 prts water. Just rinse very well to make sure all remnants of bleach are gone (use dehlorinator). The problem with using a detergent on anything that goes in the tank is that you have to be 100% certain that all the detergent is gone. With magnets, it would be very difficult to get all the detergent out of the pad that does the cleaning. You can easily use the vinegar on any of those type items.
