What say you?

Yeah the last ones not a cory

A baby syno catfish maybe ?

top ones are c. trilineatus, often sold as c. julii. They belong in groups of 6+. Second looks like synodontis nigriventris, an upside-down catfish.

I plan to get more of the corys, i bought the only ones the store had. with the other one, how bog does it get, and will it be okay in a 29 gallon tank? does it need different food?

They'll eat the same things the cory eat. They should have some overhanging structures or tunnels, which could be rock, wood or large broad-leafed plants. It'll get to be just under 4", so should be okay in your 29g if you don't overcrowd and keep the water nice and clean. They don't care about the substrate, but the cory like sand.

The third one, I was actually looking at in the LFS today. Can't for the life of me remember what it was though, but I do know it's not a cory.

So six months later, this is what "Sydney" looks like. He's about 4-5 inches long...

On the plus side... you still have him and he is one of the prettiest eupterus i have ever seen :good:

Awww thanks. Hes my favorite fish! Hence the reason he has a name... on the downside, I'm missing one of my swordtails... I'm thinking he died while at my friends, because I didn't have him when I moved them yesterday. Makes me sad. and one platy is still on the bottom to the tank just sitting, half sideways... He keeps trying to swim, but just sinks...

Also, if hes supposed to get bigger would it be a good idea to find him his own tank? a long short one? or can I keep him in the tank I have? My tank is a bit crowded i think, so Im already planning on getting a second one. I have a 29 gallon tank. Have Sydney, 3 corys, 5 swords, 5 platys and three baby swords (3 weeks old)

I would definitely upgrade if you plan to keep him. I would also recommend getting him some friends. I have 3 eupteras and I noticed a big difference from when I only had one to have a small group. They are very active when in a group. If you did a 55g-75g, you could have some nice cichlids as well, or a large community. The only reason I suggest cichlids as the synos will get rather big, and will take away from the beuty of smaller fish. They are def. show stealers :p

Since I got Sydney purely on accident, how do I find one on purpose? Also, for a 55g tank, should I go long or tall?

I would go long personally. And to find one on pupose, most LFS will have them, especially if they are a little mom and pop shop. you could also try aquabid.
