So, what makes me think I've got the perfect tank?

Sorry people. A warning in advance: I'm so proud my heads going to explode (I'm sure! :p ).

The water quality has been perfect for an absolute age, my plants are growing well (lots of sprouting roots and baby plants) I haven't had any deaths for awhile now, my Danio's are dropping so many eggs on a regular basis, and the 'piece de resistance', I've got aphids/greenfly reproducing all year round on the surfaced tops of my tank plants, keeping my baby Danio's fed all through the winter.

So, this is what makes me think I've got a great tank (one of four and a half).

What make you think yours is equally as good?! :p

I've got the greenflies too! Though I rarely see more than 3 or 4 at a time. I have no clue where they came from?!?

My water is crystal clear though i have a slight algea problem. In a few weeks I might try my luck with otos. My first try turned out dead but my tank has only been running for 2 and a half months now. Though my fish are all healthy and it has cycled many weeks ago.

 Always good to see a proud tank owner.  Setting up and maintaining and running a tank is no mean feat, it deserves recognition and I think bragging rights are entirely in order. :)

Saying you have greenflies helping you feed your danio fry(so neat, I am jealous!) makes me think you're in a tad warmer climate than mine (-30 this morning not counting the windchill). I have this mental image of miniature icecubes containing greenflies flying into my aquarium on teeny little wings.

Oops, meant to ask: You have four and a half tanks if I read that correctly? What's your half tank?

I was wondering exactly the same... Still cycling?

Thanks guys. Like everyone else, I've had my fair share of 'ups and downs', so I'm really glad that it has now come together.

The aphids were a great, and welcome, surprise. They're positively thriving on the Amazon Swords, just leave them to reproduce for a few days after the cull. My baby D's love them.

'Four and half', 'half' represents a name exaggeration for my baby tank/snailarium, which I hope to soon house more baby D's.

Hope you've all had a great, and successful time, with this hobby.

Kribsinvcrib :)
