2 red and 2 blue to keep my son happy.

Some of you will have saw that I have a new 50 litre tank (mature filter) and I was debating about what to put in there.

I do want to add some Neons at some point and maybe a Gourami or 2 - can anyone advise me as to whether these 3 types if fish will mix ok, and whether the Gourami's are better on their own or as a pair?

I personally would opt for a slightly larger tetra such as a glowlight or flame as neons tend to 'dissapear' due to there size with most gourami's, i would look at honey dwarfs as your keeping platies, you don't want anything too large. Maybe nip to your LFS write down the one's you like and ask on here or search the net to see if they are compatable?

Honeys and Dwarfs are different kinds of Gourami

I'd go for maybe 2 Honeys (get females if you can). You can keep one on it's own though if you want. and Yeah, Platys, Honeys and Neons will go fine together
