It was horrible! but in a good way:)

I just got back from town and at the LFS the had this little green sev about 1.5". I was checking him out. He was giving me the look and i almost fell!!So to get my mind off tthat guy, i went to the other LFS and there right in the big tank were Red spots, rotties,Golds and greens, i completly went scico and left, lol.

But i just cant get that little guy off my mind,:(

Severums will do that too you. They are still my number one fav of all times. My severums was one of my cheapest fish but I would give all the others up before I let My green severum Nip go.

Go get him ! Mine did the same thing.....I visited the store often....3rd time, I took him home. My favorite fish, great personality.

You could possibly get away with a Rotkeil depending on your other stock as they dont get as big as greens and reds :good:

Oh really, Dont they only get around like 7-8"?

They do have 2 rotties at the one LFS , hmmm, lol , What u guys think would one be able to go with angels?

yeah rotkeils will max out around 8 inches . i used to keep my full grown adult rotkeil with angels , no problems at all.

From what I have seen most all severums max out around 7-8" They might very slowly grow more after 8" but not normaly IMO 12" is Rare. There is this old Gold Severum at the LFS it's 8" but very stocky. These are thick tall fish not so much long.

You could keep a severum in a 55 gal for a year or so. Maybe longer if you don't have tank mates.

i agree with that snowflake. having kept rotkeil ( which will max out at around 8") red spotted and green ( which do have the potential to get much bigger) i find that once the bigger sev species hit 7 to 8 inches they tend to grow more in bulk rather than length , which seems to slow down once they hit this size

So i could keep a gold or a green in the tank but probably not a good idea cause they'll get bigger after a year slowy, So better idea sticking with s rotkeil?

Wow, I've never been to a fish shop that has kept all those types of Severum - how lucky are you

Thanks! Yehh i can special order them too, but usually they just order them, When you go to an LFS just ask for someone that deals with fish then ask them if they can special order fish just for you,

Anyway, im just remembering (lol i dont think thats a word) So i went to the first lfs and there was that little one that i love lol, nice brighgt colors everything, But then if you look at the sevs at the other lfs, there kinda like more grey, like hardly no colors just have the bands with alot of spots, is this like a different strain?

The severums at the 2nd lfs looked like this http://www.fishyfriendsaquatics.co.uk/imagelib/sitebuilder/misc/show_image.html?linkedwidth=560&linkpath=http://www.fishyfriendsaquatics.co.uk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/img_3077.jpg&target=tlx_new&title=Green Severum, Heros severus
