So Many Things Going Wrong!

I find the best meds in the uk for columnaris is myxazin by waterlife and pimafix.

Columanris spots take some getting rid of. So myxazin by waterlife no good.
There this med but it will wipe the beneifical bacteria out in the filter.
So I would only treat in isolation.
Furanol 2 by jbl.

Is the fish with the spots flicking and rubbing?

The black fish in the pic might have whitespot.
It's hard to tell in the pics.

Ok so you were talking about the betta then? Well i had to end his life this morning coz he was not well at all  (i had been treating him with pimafix and myxazin anyway ;) )

the black molly i dont know whats going on yet. shes not acting any differently at all. i cant start any treatment til tomorrow eve anyway as theres myxazin in the water, so will see how tonight/tomorrow goes.

R.I.P.

Need to know the size of the spots on the fish?

they look a bit bigger than whitespot spots. look a bit more fungal than that. most of the spots are more like a discolouration of the scales rather than anything actually attached to the body. i wouldnt want to treat for whitespot (raising temp) if its columnaris (need to lower temp)

ive started interpet internal anti bacterial treatment this evening, see how it goes. a couple of the panda cories arent looking so good in the big tank, so ive treated both tanks. fingers crossed.

I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time with your tanks! Hopefully someone sheds some light for you! I would be going crazy if I lost that many fish and were having that many problems! All I can say is do lots of water changes!

Good luck.
Keep us all updated if you don't mind.

of course. today i noticed the dicolourations on the black molly have faded but she has developed whitespot. so ive started protozin treatment, alongside the interpet internal anti-bacterial treatment. introduced high amounts of aeration too, and started to raise temp. salt is already in the water anyway.
hopefully that'll kick in the butt anything else which might be going on!

You shouldn't mix meds. But you already done it now.
If the fish start to gasp, or act odd immediate water change.
Good Luck.

well it didnt say on either instructions that you couldnt, so i assumed it would be ok  the fish are certainly fine at the moment, showing no difference at all. will be checking water parameters every day while theyre on meds too. of course i'll do just a 100% water change immediately if needed. thanks for the advice :good:

Ok. That's fine.
Good Luck.

this is the third neon tetra which has died. you see the patch of colour missing on the top of the body, what is that? Ive seen it somewhere recently - is it neon tetra disease?

I've had to deal with ntd and it dosn't look like ntd to me.
If the red stripe area was bleached out maybe.

Has any other neons lost any colour in there red stripe area.,

the first one that died was paler all over before dying the following day. the second one that died had jumped out of the tank (very odd coz theyre always in the bottom/mid of the tank), but didnt appear pale. none of the others in the tank look any paler than normal, or have areas which are paler.

could this be a saddleback thing from columnaris?

Bleaching beneath the skin is columnaris.
There also false ntd which is columnaris.

Saddle back columnaris goes along the back of the fish and down the sides of the fish to form a saddle shape on the fish.

If things don't improve with the med get back to the board.
