Well, the sentiment is definately appreciated. I guess I should be pleased that I didn't put my betta into the tank while it was still cycling (some people are of the opinion that bettas don't need a cycle, and that did kind of appeal to my impatient side).
I read on another forum that Malaysian Trumpet Snails will eat hydra and other little bugs. Some where else suggested I use chlorene - like, for pools, my spelling isn't always grand - and that it wouldn't kill my plants. But I'm fairly sure that wuold uncycle my tank. Somewhere else suggested super-heating the tank, but my heater only goes up to 86 degrees. X(
I put some new lights on my 10gal today, so I have 4 watts per gallon in there now. I hear for a 10gal, that means I have medium light. So my plants are doing well, at least. I just wish I could put something else in there aside from bugs.
I'm really really favoring the 'snail breeding' 5gal with betta and 2 adfs idea. It just seems like a really good solution to my fish obsessions.

I wonder how many Dwarf Puffers I ought to get, being a researched newbie? Just one, or three. In a tank as 'well planted' as mine is now, and is going to be, I feel like a fish as big as a DP will get lost quite easily in there....
I think my little cycle of life in there came from the plants. I didn't clean the anacharis when I got it, and I now know that the lady who gave it to me has messy fish keeping habits.
