-=snails Wont Sink=-

I ust bought 4 black myster snails last week. At first they were fine but now they cant sink to the bottom of the tank anymore and they are just floating on the surface. I checked my water pH and its about 7 and all my other tests like nitrate and CO2 are just fine. Are my snails dying?

Sometimes dead snails do that but they probably just have air in their shells and are fine

Sometimes they get air underneath their shells (or at least it happens to my apple snail sometimes, but he sorts it himself), so maybe you could try tipping them upside down (in the water) and see if any air comes out. Also, are they alive?

Sounds like some dead snails? I have never heard of the getting air trapped under their shells lets hope thats the case.

As unpleasant as it may sound, the sniff test is usually the best way of discovering if your snails are dead. It's better that than to have them poisoning the water as they decay
