Snails And Sand

Can you have snails if you have sand as a substrate?

yes,

if you have sand it's at least commonly advised to have some malaysian trumpet snails in particular to burrow in the sand and stir it all up for you.

some will say that if you don't stir it anerobic pockets of gas can build up and if released could be harmful to your fish, however some people sya it's a load of rubbish.

as you can probably get some mts from someone on this forum either dirt cheap or for free i think it's worth doing just incase.
