Hey all,
I have recently discovered a snail infestation in my oscar's tank. I would estimate there are between 100 and 200 of them (they are all pretty small). I am curious if they will be a problem as I don't particularly mind them (as long as they don't harm my fish of course)and they have been keeping my tank algae free on my hardwood and rocks. They really only ever come out at night after the lights are out, and I don't have plants or anything that I need to worry about getting destroyed by them.
I am however concerned that they will get sucked up during my water changing and get into my sump system which may cause much more issues than an unsightly problem in my tank. Because of this reason I think it to be best to try to eradicate the problem, but I'm not sure the best solution for this. I was following this thread (http
/www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/388555-declaring-war-on-snails/) and was thinking about using the same treatment but I could not find it at my lfs (from western new york if it helps). I've also read copper works, would that just mean putting in copper wire or pipe?
