Sold as a 'zebra' apple snail...

is it even an apple snail?
the shell shape says no to me... and the fact he dosn't come out of his shell to move (there is an anteni in the pic as he was scooting about on the rock).

He's a dark gray colour which is cool...

Definitely not an Apple Snail. Maybe a pond snail although I'm doubtful as I've never seen one that coloration before.
 
With snails, asexual isn't common as far as I know. Hermaphrodites are however and it might be that. Plenty of snails swing both ways.
 
Looks like a Zebra Nerite, the brackish to freshwater type. Do a goole search and see if anything useful turns up. I don't know if Nerites are hermaphrodites or not, but I they arn't asexual.
