Hi All,

So ive had 3 assassin snails in my 150 litre tank for about 2 months now.

They have settled in and have eaten all my pest snails as far as i can see.

Someone suggested that i feed them ramshorn and mts.

Ive set up a smaller tank just for breeding them just for assassin food purposes.

ive bought a hanful of each and will receive them this week i hope.

1)my plan is to drop one of each every other day... would that be ok??

2) ive been told to feed them flakes ...... how many flakes for 20 young snails??

3) do i leave the cuttlefish bone in forever or should it be replaced every so often??

4) has anyone had any issues with doing what i plan to do... i so please could you advise/

Thanks,

Dave

I am referring to the ramshorn and mts snails in which i am going to breed

Snails don't eat that much, so a small pinch daily would be plenty; at least until they start breeding!

Personally, I'd use pellets of some kind; when one pellet is all gone, you know to add another one :)

Leave the cuttlefish in all the time; add a new bit when it's all eaten/dissolved.
