Small Tank

Hi, quick question, was wanting to get a very small tank purely for the purpose of taking some pics. of the fish in my main tank, was wondering if anyone has done this? What size of tank would you recomend and would a small spotlight be ok for the lighting?
Any correspondence greatly appreciated...

Best have a longways divider in and plant behind this. keep the fish to the front in a narrow channel (care must be taken so as it doesn't jump out.

The best results I have seen for using a small volume and getting pictures was someone using a Tic-Tac container to shoot pictures of endlers. Larger fish would, of course, need a larger container. Maybe one of those small containers they use for bagging fish would work for something the size of a swordtail, molly or platy. All suggestions are welcome. I am certainly no expert at pictures. My best shots are always the result of pure unadulterated persistence. If I shoot a hundred shots of something, I get lucky enough once in a while to get a shot like this in an open aquarium.

It would all depend on what fish you want to photograph. It needs to be able to turn round and swim somewhat, or the fish will panic and thrash about, and look stessed which would be counterproductive to a good picture.

What fish do you want to take pictures of exactly? Until we know we can't really help much with a tank size.
