Small Peaceful Cichlid?

I'm sorry to have to tell you this but the ram will be short lived unless you can provide the right conditions:

temperature 30oC
PH 5-6
GH 0-12dGH

Do GBR HAVE to have a pH that low? I know that it is prefered, but if they are tank raised, then I think that they will get used to a higher pH. I would personally reccomend that the pH is less that 7.5, but I don't know if it NEEDS to be that low.

Thnx for all the advice I just tested my PH Im pretty bad in telling colors but I think its 7.5 I use Nutrafin liquid test kit.
The tank is at 26degrees I can raise it to 28degrees. I don't really wanna go 30 coz of the majority of the fish in the tank.

I don't think those parameters are met at the LFS so I don't see the point in returning it. I think I have a female German Ram, I wanna get her a mate but with the parameters not exactly met.....any suggestions?

Yes some tank raised GBR can live in a ph of 7.5 that is close to nutral. Depending on where the fish came from there is really no way to know if it was raised in harder water or soft. Even some discus can live in harder water. It just depends on where they were raised.

She seems to be doing fine in my tank, funny how she keeps trying to taste things sitting on the substrate and spit it out "nope that's not food, nope neither is this one"
I guess is good that the tank parameters are pretty close :) I'll get her a mate so she'll be happy in the tank, whether its short or long life. Thnx for all the help!
