Hi, I'm looking on some advice re bottom feeders.

I have a 50ltr fish box (not big I know), but its been up and running for 9 months ish, maybe longer. I did have half a dozen endlers and a betta in it, unfortunately I've lost the betta .... found him caught in the filter, no idea if this killed him or if he died and got pulled in, either way I was devasted! So I ended up down to 4 tiny endlers ( lost a couple to unknow reasons) in this tank so after a while I went to my local MA and bought 6 male guppies.

So currently have 4 endlers and 6 guppies and 2 bumble bee nerite snails. I'm looking for some activity down the bottom of the tank so was thinking of dwarf corrys, but before I make the decision to get some is there any other options open to me? It's not really about cleaning the sand, just wanting some activity down near the bottom of the tank.

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.

Your tank is pretty stocked fish wise. I would look into the various freshwater shrimp.

Yeah I was looking at shrimp the other day, pretty colourful little guys but I'd rather not if I am honest. I also thought that I was pretty stocked as per the inch per gallon rule but the guy at MA made me believe I was being over cautious and that I should get something for the bottom of the tank given the endlers and guppies spend a lot of time mid-upper. I've always wanted Pygmy corries so that was what I was thinking but just wanted to check my options before I done anything. Bit disappointed now. I know people say not to trust your Lfs but I was also lead to believe the staff at MA was very and knowledgable so I did trust what he said. Silly me!

Shrimp are crazy little things, I wish I could go around eating like that. Take another look at them, and keep doing so until you like them. Simples.
