Slime Disease

I havn`t particulay bought it just for this although it has been mentioned a few times in this thread along with primafix. 2 of the rainbows seem to be improving as the smile seems to be clearing from the head! Ill leave the carbon in for 2 days like you have suggested and ill folow with another water test. Is it a possability there are more than one disease present?

Excess slime can be caused by bad water quality, ph shock, external parasites, bacterial, toxins.

Turn the tank lights out and shine a torch on the fish to see if you can see anything.
With the flicking and rubbing, darting, excess slime a parasite could be involved.

Rainbows have stoped flicking and darting about and seem quite settled, infact some are displaying to aeach other. With the lights out and using a torch i can see what i can with the lights on which is a thick greyish covering on the body of the fish, one of the rainbows loos like its swam through a spiders web. The clown loach has patches which are efecting the eyes.

I would go in with myxain by waterlife and some pimafix.
If that dosn't do much it could be parasite.
