Skimmer Questions

Hey all, Im wanting to add a protein skimmer to my 30 gallon tank but Im not sure what to get. Price has a lot to do with my choice so I was thinking of doing one of Lee's counter current skimmers. Has anyone ever used one or heard anything good about them? I asked my lfs and they said that they had ordered one and it sat on the shelf so long they finally gave it away. If they are junk then what would someone recommend as a good cost effective skimmer for a 30 gallon tank?

Dont touch Lees skimmer! i had one, wow waste of time i found. Tbh cheapest skimmer but good quality is the TMC v2 400 skimmer roughly £80 inc delivery

sounds really good from reviews Ive just read about it (the tmc v2 400) only one problem...I'm in the US and it seems to only be distributed in the UK

What was so bad about the Lee's skimmer? I found a good deal on one so it seems like it'd be worth the try. Under $10.

i paid over the odds for my V2 600, ost me about 110 squid or $190 . now it is a good skimmer, not the best but it does a passable job and i am happy with it. if price is any thing to go off, it would make the my skimmer about 20 times better . and my skimmer as said above is just ok. hope that helps you out, but 10 bucks for a skimmer i can only see it beeing a lump of plastic muck sorry .
