Recent breeding for me has been Xenoophorus captivus and Xenotoca eiseni. I ended up putting some young mollies in with my Xiphophorus montezumae to try to act as dithers. The monties had been playing very shy and hiding under any cover they could find. There are tons of najas grass in the tank and a partial cover of duckweed but they were hiding under the sponge filter whenever the light was on.
They don't seem very common here either but I found some at the ALA convention auction. In the UK, you might try looking by joining the BLA and getting their information and participating in their club events.
