Siphoning

hi i was siphoning the tank with the gravel cleaner and water went into my mouth lol... not funny

anyway
i dont think i swallowed it . is this dangerous?

I've done it before just getting the siphon going.. I doubt it's dangerous. I've drank water accidentally from the river and lakes and i've never gotten sick from it. It's a little harder, but once you get the hang of getting the siphon going you wont have to worry about getting it down your throat... Nasty I know!

Ya I did the same thing no worries, I should've paid the extra $5 for the self starting one but being a cheapskate has its perks

Hi:

Use this trick...Fill the entire tube first with fish or tap water and keep the discharge end covered with your finger. Keep the discharge end lower than the inlet end and place the vac inside the tank as you lower the discharge end into your bucket. When you release your finger, the siphon will start!
