Hello, I have a tank set up all ready, but I've just got my hands on a new 96 litre one. I was wandering, is it possible to stock this tank entirely with just one of each kind of fish? No multiples of fish, no shoals. What fish ca you all think of like this that would be suitable for my tank. So far I have thought of Bristnose plecs and siamese fighters. Anything else?

Thank you!!

:hi:
a betta would limit your other options quite abit.
but gouramis are and option and maybe a dwarf cichlid like a apisto or a ram but not sure is they should be with others of there own species.
there are quite a few oddball fish but some need a spices tank.

thanks for your reply. i know a fighter would limit my choices so what i think im gonna do is try get a list of fish that dont need company of their own kind then choose what im going to get and what can live with what

far as i know most plecs are happy on their own. maybe also some types of catfish ?

do you know what types of catfish are happy by themselves? really wish cory were! but i really must resist cory in this tank as i really want to give this idea a go

Red-tailed shark comes to mind as a fish that is happy by itself.

RTBS need 200litre tank minimum

What about a single Platy? (not brightly coloured though or else the Betta will attack it.

Ah yeah of course, platys. you can get some nice platys to, and not always brightly coloured :) thanks for that one. keep them coming if possible guys

synodontis are happy on their own far as i know.
