Hello,

I was misguided when buying fish at a LFS downtown and ended up with one Silvertip Tetra and a bunch of other fishes. Went back to get more to school but the LFS no longer stocks them. Been through the whole stretch of LFSs at Serangoon and couldn't find any either.

1) Has anyone came across any Silvertips at any LFS lately?

Also, I noticed that most Silvertips at LFS look like this:

But mine looks like this:

Sometimes the whites on the fins wouldn't appear at all! Is this normal, a sign of stress, or a bad ID? Will the 2 pictured fish school together despite looking different?

Thanks in advance! :)

Fish loose there colour in different environments, They'll adjust and change colour so I wouldn't worry about it. My angel had black stripes in the LFS and when I took it home it turned silver :p

Ahh okay, next time I spot a Silvertip I'll snatch them up :D Thank you!!

I would guess the reason for the pale colouration is due to that fish being female, fish should not change colour completely and if it happens it is most certainly something to be worried about IMO unless the fish in question are noted for doing so normally or have been put on a lighter/darker substrate/background (lighter surroundings can cause a fishes colour to become washed out, it is not harmful).
Is it possible to get a clearer picture?

IIRC this fish arrived from LFS in this colour and has been ever since - I didn't know Silvertips actually had silver tips until I searched for it online (the whole batch of Silvertips at the LFS were like this)!

Here's something slightly clearer:
