Hey guys and ladies! I would just like to say hello, as a new member on this awesome forum site!
Anyway, I am a worried fish owner because I have just bought a new Silver tipped Shark, or Colombian Shark for my 10g freshwater tank. Before you get all worked up, I know that a 10g is not big enough for the shark, nor is freshwater because they prefer brackish. I did my research, don't worry..=) I will be moving it into a 55g brackish tank in 6 months before it reaches maturity. But currently, the baby shark is swimming up and down one corner of my tank! I just got him two days ago and he has been doing it ever since! He only stops to eat! and boy does he eat...The tank parameters are fine, and I have 3 small cory cats in there as tank mates and they are behaving normal(had them for 2 years). Any suggestions would be very helpful! If you think I should return him to the lfs, let me know!
Tank=) you so much!

I have one in my 55G and he just hangs out by the heater all day swimming up and down. Every once in a while I will catch him hanging out on the bottom or swimming across the tank.

Also I picked up a free 10G last night and low and behold the cruel people had a little Columbian Shark in there and after completely cleaning the tank for the fish in there, this morning the little guy is just swimming up and down the corner.

I don't think it sounds like a problem as that is 3 of these guys doing it.

What a relief! I thought this was because he was sick or something. Is it OK if he is kept in the 10 Gallon freshwater with cory cats until he gets a bit bigger? I will move him to a 55g when I have the funds haha! Thanks for the quick reply! Let me know if you need any other info!

mine has always been in a 55 so he has had room to grow but he is even getting to be for that and I haven't been able to convince the wife to get rid of him yet. Didn't know he would possibly be "aggressive" when he was bigger and that he would require brackish water. I wouldn't want to keep one in a 10 personally as it isn't much space to grow but that is my opinion. Going to be finding a home for the one that came with the 10G I got last night. It will probably have to goto a LFS.
