Hi everybody, this is what happend.... I have 1 silver dollar - male (has partialy red anal fin) and there was other 2 in tank 3 monthes ago (died).... all with red colour in anal fin. Yesterday as I was watching my last biggest silver dollar - there was eggs coming out of him constantly with several second interval only in between ... all together loads of eggs fell from him in to the ground (gravel). Can anybody explain this? Is there possibility for female to have red in anal fin? Is possible that if it is female - that she was pregnant for 3 months - minimaly(that long). Or could it be something elese. Also when I was vacuming the gravel that day later on
(only part of the gravel) besides eggs there was at the bottom of the bottle I use for vacuming small dark brown short and thin little pieces and I saw at least 2 very tiny (hardly visible with naked eye)white/transparent creatures swimming in that bottle... were they little fishes - already?
If the answer is yes to all my questions.... can some survive in the same aquarium with other fish? Or is it absolutely necessary to take them out if I want any to survive? (I have botias macr. in the tank, harlequins, puntius titteyas and silver dollar). And what shall I feed it with? Thanks a lot for any opinion or help Lucc.
